The Pentagon's airborne intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) is beginning to erode under the assault of aging aircraft, advanced sensors that overload data links, new cybervulnerabilities and shrinking budgets. “ISR is really becoming a crisis,” says a senior U.S. Air Force official with daily insight into those programs. “We're only talking about the future conceptually, because there is no new cash.
