Baltic Ground Services signs an agreement with Ak Bars Aero
On 26th of March, 2012 Baltic Ground Services (BGS) signed a contract with one of the fastest growing Russian aviation companies Ak Bars Aero. Baltic Ground Services will provide the Russian carrier with integrated ground and passenger handling as well as fuelling services at Vilnius International Airport. According to the agreement, BGS is to service the Ak Bars Aero flights from Vilnius to Saint Petersburg twice a week.
‘We are pleased that with the lately growing demand for aviation services, the foreign carriers that have already started operating at Vilnius airport, give preference to Baltic Ground Services. Last year we covered 42% of ground handling and 74% of fuelling services market at the airport. We are working in an extremely competitive environment yet we manage to offer services with the optimum price and quality ratio. As a result we continue to expand our customer base,’ said the CEO of Baltic Ground Services Saulius Batavicius.
Ak Bars Aero will carry passengers between Vilnius and Saint Petersburg by a brand new, Canada-made CRJ 200LR jet, accommodating 50 passengers.
At Vilnius International Baltic Ground Services has recently started to provide passenger handling and fuelling services for one of the major Russian air companies Transaero and has extended the fuelling contract with the Czech Airlines. Meanwhile in Poland BGS has started cooperating with the globally renowned Lufthansa Group carriers Deutsche Lufthansa AG, Austrian Airlines AG, SWISS International Air Lines Limited and Germanwings GmbH.
Baltic Ground Services is a fully licenced provider of ground handling and aircraft fuelling services in Lithuania and six largest Polish airports – Warsaw, Krakow, Wroclaw, Gdansk, Poznan and Katowice.
