SeaPort reports traffic growth in November


Salina, Kan., (December 13, 2011) -SeaPort Airlines today announced record passenger traffic in Salina, Kansas with traffic during November 2011 increasing 42% in comparison to November 2010.

SeaPort sponsored a canned food drive with the Salina Chamber and community partners during November 2011.


"Passenger traffic is trending in the right direction in Salina, and we've been very thankful for the support we've received from the community," said Rob McKinney, SeaPort Airlines president. "The Food 4 Flight canned food drive was a success, and we couldn't have done it without the help of our local business partners and those who made donations."


Participating businesses included the Salina Journal, Kansas Wesleyan University, Brown Mackie College, Kansas National Guard, Salina Public Library, the New Zoo 92.7 FM, Eagle Media Center, Sign House, Chiropractic Wellness Center, Salina Media Group, and others. Donations went to the Salina Emergency Aid & Food Bank.

Approach

The Salina Airport Authority is a body corporate and politic. The Authority was created by the City of Salina in April 1965 pursuant to the authority granted by the City by the surplus property and public airport authority act of the State of Kansas. The Authority is managed and controlled by a five-member Board of Directors appointed by the Salina City Commission.


The Salina Airport Authority is home to the Salina Municipal Airport, the Salina Aviation Service Center and the Salina Airport Industrial Center. The board of directors and staff are proactive in providing the citizens ofSalina, Saline County and North Central Kansas with a center that support business and industry, which, in turn, provides jobs and payroll that benefit the region.


The Salina Municipal Airport is the only commercial service airport serving Salina/Saline County and the 22-county area, which comprises North Central Kansas.
