Embraer's Phenom 300 wins Flying Magazine Editor's Choice Award

Light jet is recognized by the publication as a true game changer.

São José dos Campos, February 2010 – Embraer’s Phenom 300 light jet earned a reputation as a game changer in its first year of operation. The editors of Flying Magazine have announced that the executive jet was granted their Choice Award as one of the year’s most remarkable accomplishments, in terms of innovation, vision and determination.

At the end of each year, Flying Magazine editors traditionally review all aircraft, avionics, pilot services and equipment in search of a fully certified and outstanding operational-within-the-year product. The award is not presented to theoretical projects but is intended to show the nominee’s value in the real world of flying.

“That the Phenom 300 is a resounding success should surprise no one who has closely studied this industry,” says Robert Goyer, Editor-in-Chief of Flying Magazine. “Indeed, Embraer has hit its target market head-on with a large light jet that offers remarkable performance and industry leading features at a price that’s impossible to ignore.”

This is the first time an Embraer product has won the Eagle Choice Award. On Monday, February 21, Robert Goyer presented Frederico Fleury Curado, President & CEO of Embraer S.A., and Luís Carlos Affonso, Embraer Executive Vice President, Executive Jets, with the award at the Press Conference of the ribbon-cutting ceremony of Embraer’s first U.S. Phenom assembly facility in Melbourne.

“The Phenom 300, also the world’s most delivered light jet in 2010, is an aircraft that sets new standards, in terms of performance, comfort and top-notch technology,” says Luís Carlos Affonso. “We are very honored that the editors of Flying Magazine publicly acknowledge this achievement.”
