IATA Sees Demand Slip Despite Higher Profits

While airline profits continue to strengthen, demand growth is showing definite signs of slowing, according to the International Air Transport Association.

The net profit tally for the second quarter–now including 57 carriers–has risen to $4.4 billion. Last year, the same sample group posted a $620 million net loss. The first quarter of 2010 produced a $1.9 billion loss. IATA says these latest data are consistent with its forecast of an ...
