The FAA jumped right to a final rule in mandating the replacement of the Thales pitot tubes on certain Airbus A330 and 340 aircraft. The airworthiness directive followed the lead of European rulemaking released in late August and stemmed from the ongoing investigation of the June 1 Air France A330-200 crash over the Atlantic Ocean near Brazil....
