Emirates finalized a $3 billion engine servicing agreement with the Engine Alliance to maintain, repair and overhaul GP7200 engines that power the airline's A380 fleet. The Fleet Management Agreement with the GE Aviation/Pratt & Whitney joint venture formalizes an aftermarket agreement first announced in November 2007 at the Dubai Air Show.

Emirates entered its first GP7200-powered A380 into service last August; the engines have been covered by warranties since.

Emirates has 250 GP7200 engines and 58 A380s on order, which if all are exercised, would make the airline the largest operator of the A380.
