Emirates, the largest Arab carrier, signed a fleet management agreement with the Engine Alliance worth over USD$3 billion, the state-run WAM news agency reported.
Engine Alliance -- a joint venture between General Electric and Pratt & Whitney -- will repair and overhaul the GP7200 engines used on Emirates' Airbus A380 superjumbo fleet, the agency said.
Engine Alliance also makes engines for the A380.
Emirates, which now has five A380 aircraft, has 58 more A380s and over 250 GP7200 engines on order, the agency said.
