Air Berlin Passengers Down 3.4 Percent In April
Air Berlin's passenger numbers fell 3.4 percent in April from a year earlier as demand fell at a faster rate than it cut capacity.
The German carrier -- the country's second-biggest after Lufthansa -- said on Tuesday that it had reduced the number of seats on offer by 0.4 percent in April. It carried a total of 2.17 million passengers.
The load factor narrowed by 2.4 percentage points to 76.4 percent.
Fare yields rose 13 percent from a year earlier, meaning the company improved its profitability per seat sold.
