Bombardier Customer Services Expands in Dallas


Bombardier Customer Services today formally opened a new component repair and overhaul center for commercial aircraft in Dallas. The $4.3 million facility, located south west of Love Field Airport, will cater for Bombardier’s growing number of customers across the United States as well as Central and South America.

Focusing on the repair and overhaul of structural components for nacelles, the facility’s capabilities will include support for the RB211 E4 and IAE V2500 engine ranges.

Occupying 50,000 square feet of workshop, storage and office space at the Pinnacle Industrial Center, the layout was designed using Lean methodology. Currently employing a team of 16, the facility is expected to grow to 60 employees over the next five years.

Speaking at the official opening ceremony, James Hoblyn, President, Bombardier Customer Services & Specialized and Amphibious Aircraft said: “This new facility is a further expansion of Bombardier’s customer services network in Dallas and a clear commitment to providing an amazing customer experience for all our customers. Our enhanced capabilities in aftermarket support will ensure we are well-positioned to respond to increasing customer demand while growing this sector of our business.”

Michael Ryan, Vice-president and General Manager, Bombardier Aerospace, Belfast, said: “Dallas affords us an excellent opportunity to extend the support we offer from our established repair and overhaul center in Belfast, by improving turnaround times and delivering optimum value to our growing customer base in the Americas. Our new team of maintenance technicians will be led by managers who have gained specific product and process training at our Belfast repair facility.”
