FAA today certified Embraer's largest executive jet, the Lineage 1000. The aircraft won type certification in December 2008 from Brazil's ANAC National Civil Aviation Agency as well as the European Aviation Safety Agency.

A variant of Embraer's 190 airliner, the Lineage 1000 is powered by two 18,500-lb.-thrust General Electric CF34-10E7-B engines. The luxury business aircraft has a maximum range of 4,400 n.m. (5,063 s.m.) with eight passengers on board. Its cabin space can be configured to seat up to 19 passengers.

The Lineage 1000 has maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) of 120,150 lb. and is cleared to operate under ETOPS 120 rules, which provides a diversion to an airport located up to 120 minutes distant after an engine failure.

The cabin, with three temperature zones, has a maximum altitude rating of 7,000 ft.

The Brazilian manufacturer launched the Lineage 1000 program in May 2006, and as of Jan. 7, has sold more than 20 worldwide; deliveries are to begin soon.

The Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil-based manufacturer's Phenom jet program is also moving along. Embraer delivered two Phenom 100 very light jets last month, the first on Dec. 24 to a Houston, Tex.-based couple, and the second on Dec. 29. to an unnamed customer--only a little over 3.5 years since the launch of the Phenom 100/300 very light/light jet program.
